Backstory

Sooty was born in a litter of 3 to a stray she-cat, and a few days later was found and taken by a shelter. A couple of weeks later, they were adopted by a Twoleg. This Twoleg turned out to not know a lot about cats, and therefore ended up leaving Sooty alone for incredibly long periods of time.

Bored, Sooty would come to the backyard, where a couple of stray cats hung out on their fence. Over the next few moons, they would tell Sooty elaborate stories about the clans and the warriors who lived within them, and one clan soon caught Sooty's attention.

Windclan.

After a few moons of these stories, Sooty decided to go join Windclan. They thought it would be an exciting and awesome adventure, though they didn't yet realise the dangers of clan life. Sooty was also.. kind of scared of growing up. They wanted to do something meaningful! The stray cats egged them on, and so Sooty made their way to the border.

Once they met Crowstar, they were suddenly met with an unfortunate truth: clan life wasn't as exciting a venture as Sooty had previously thought. Sooty thought to back down for a moment, but they didn't want to give up that easily! Being a warrior to them wasn't just having fun and being strong — it was about helping their clan!

Even if Crowstar didn't fully understand Sooty's logic, he let Sooty come back to Windclan with him, and Sooty was now Sootkit!

Despite Sootkit not yet being a big strong warrior like they'd hoped, they were ecstatic, and quickly rushed to make new friends in their new clan!

Sootkit once caught a bird as a kittypet.
